MCA will function with the philosophy that both the family and the community are necessary partners in the education of children. Raising student achievement involves parents and guardians working together within MCA and supporting MCA’s educational purpose. MCA will emphasize the importance of close parent/teacher/student relationships in developing the best plan of action for meeting a student’s individual goals and the goals of MCA.
Parents and guardians will have numerous opportunities to become engaged with MCA, such as volunteering in the classroom or cafeteria, serving as an escort on field trips, contributing to school-wide activities and events, serving on the MCA Parent Advisory Board, serving on the MCA Governing Board of Directors, and providing at-home support. MCA recognizes communication with parents is essential and will be employed through on-going written, oral, and face-to-face contact, as well as electronic communication by way of e-mail and electronic grade programs. MCA
will empower parents and give them the means by which they can ensure
their children get the very best education possible, the core of MCA’s
philosophy. The student’s parent involvement and commitment is essential to building a successful program.
